ACAG and Apna Ghar Login Portal Guide 2026

You filled the form, you got the confirmation SMS, and now, three weeks later, you can't log back in to check your status. The login screen rejects your CNIC, the CAPTCHA never loads, or the password reset SMS never arrives. You're not alone. Most of these problems come down to typing, browser or phone issues, and they usually have simple fixes.

This guide covers the exact login process for both Apna Ghar portals, common login problems and what causes them, and the fixes worth trying.

How to Log In to PM Apna Ghar (Federal Portal)

Step 1: Open the Official Portal

Type apnaghar.gov.pk directly into your browser address bar. Do not click on links from Facebook, WhatsApp forwards, or random Google ads, fake login pages can steal your CNIC data. The programme was launched on 30 April 2026.

The real portal will show:

• UAN 051-111-742-111 and info@pha.gov.pk at the top of the page
• "Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program, Ghar Ho Tu Apna" branding
• A padlock icon in your browser address bar
• A Log In link in the main menu

Step 2: Click the Login Button

Click Log In in the main menu. On a phone you may need to open the menu first. This opens the login page at apnaghar.gov.pk/auth/login.

Step 3: Enter Your Credentials

Two fields appear:

• CNIC, type your 13-digit number with no dashes, no spaces. Example: 1234512345671 (correct), 12345-1234567-1 (rejected).
• Password, exactly as you set it during registration. Passwords are case-sensitive.

Step 4: Solve the CAPTCHA

The federal login page uses a Google reCAPTCHA box ("I'm not a robot"). Tick it. Sometimes it asks you to pick matching pictures before it lets you continue.

Step 5: Click Sign In

If everything is correct, you are signed in. The portal's own instructions say that after login you:

• Fill out the loan application form
• Submit the form
• Track your application status

How to Log In to Apni Chhat Apna Ghar (Punjab ACAG Portal)

Step 1: Open the ACAG Portal

Type acag.punjab.gov.pk directly into your browser. Labels on the login page are shown in both English and Urdu side by side, so there is no language switch to look for.

Step 2: Locate the Login Button

Login is in the top menu of the homepage, next to About Program, Eligibility Criteria and Contact Us. Do not use Admin, which is for staff. The buttons "Request for Release of 2nd Installment" and "Request for Change of Loan Category" also take you to the same login page.

Step 3: Enter Credentials

• CNIC: type the 13 digits, the box adds the dashes itself
• Password: 6 to 30 characters, case-sensitive, as set during registration

Step 4: Type the CAPTCHA

Below the password box the ACAG login page shows a 5-character CAPTCHA made of capital letters and numbers. Type it exactly as shown. If it is hard to read, click the reload button next to it. A wrong entry shows "Incorrect CAPTCHA. Try again." and a new one appears.

Step 5: Click Login

Click Login. After you sign in you can see your own application. PHATA does not publish the layout of the applicant dashboard, so we do not describe its contents here. AZAG ballot results are not in the ACAG portal, they are on azag.punjab.gov.pk/ballot/result.

What You Can Do After Logging In

Neither portal publishes a full list of dashboard features. This is what the official pages do confirm:

PM Apna Ghar (Federal) Dashboard

• Fill out and submit the loan application form
• Track your application status
• Apply through one of the 31+ participating financial institutions instead, if you prefer

ACAG (Punjab) Dashboard

• See your application after login (see our status check guide)
• Request for Release of 2nd Installment (button on the home page, leads to Login)
• Request for Change of Loan Category (also leads to Login)
• AZAG ballot results are not here, check them at azag.punjab.gov.pk/ballot/result with your CNIC

Common Login Errors and Their Real Fixes

Here are common login problems and fixes. Apart from the ACAG CAPTCHA message, the portals do not publish their error texts, so the quoted messages below are typical examples, not exact portal wording.

Error 1: "Invalid Credentials"

Real cause: usually a mistyped CNIC digit or password. On apnaghar.gov.pk type the 13 digits with no dashes. On acag.punjab.gov.pk type the 13 digits and the box adds the dashes. Passwords are case-sensitive, so also check caps lock.

Fix:

1. Re-type your CNIC carefully, numbers only
2. Check caps lock, passwords are case-sensitive
3. If still failing, use Forgot Password to reset

Error 2: "Incorrect CAPTCHA. Try again."

Real cause: This is the ACAG login page's own message. The 5 characters were typed wrong, and a new CAPTCHA appears straight away.

Fix:

1. Type the new CAPTCHA, not the old one
2. It uses capital letters and numbers only, so type capitals
3. Click the reload button if the characters are hard to read
4. If you keep failing on the password itself, use Forgot Password instead of guessing again. Neither portal publishes a lockout rule.

Error 3: CAPTCHA Won't Load or Stays Blank

Real cause: On acag.punjab.gov.pk the CAPTCHA is drawn by the page itself, so it needs JavaScript turned on. On apnaghar.gov.pk it is Google reCAPTCHA, which some ad-blockers and privacy settings can block.

Fix (in order):

1. Disable your ad-blocker for the .gov.pk site and reload
2. Try Chrome or Edge, Safari and in-app browsers (Facebook, Instagram) often fail
3. Turn off any VPN and try again
4. Clear browser cache and cookies, then reload the page
5. Switch to incognito/private browsing mode as a fast test

Error 4: "Session Expired, Please Login Again"

Real cause: The ACAG portal ends your session after 30 minutes and shows a warning ("Your session will be locked in one minute") at 25 minutes. The federal portal does not publish its timeout. If you walked away and came back, your session has likely expired.

Fix:

1. Log in again and check whether your last entries were saved
2. Keep your documents ready before you start, so you can finish quickly
3. Complete actions in one sitting where possible
4. If you see the one-minute warning, finish or save what you are doing

Error 5: "OTP Not Received" During Password Reset

Real cause: SMS can be delayed, or the code went to your email instead. On acag.punjab.gov.pk the OTP is sent by SMS and email and expires in 30 minutes. On apnaghar.gov.pk, Forgot Password sends a reset link to your email, not an SMS. The code also cannot reach you if the registered SIM is inactive or no longer in your name.

Fix:

1. Wait a few minutes before clicking Resend OTP
2. Check your SMS inbox and your email inbox and spam folder
3. Confirm your SIM is still active, make a test call
4. If your number has changed, call 0800-09100 (ACAG) or 051-111-742-111 (federal) to ask how to update it

Error 6: "Mobile Number Already Registered"

Real cause: The number may already be used for another account, for example by a family member. The ACAG registration form says the mobile number must be registered in the applicant's own name.

Fix:

1. Use a different mobile number for your registration
2. If you don't have one, get a SIM in your own name from a telecom franchise
3. For ACAG, the mobile must be registered in your own name

Error 7: Blank Dashboard / "Page Not Loading"

Real cause: Browser cache conflict with previous portal sessions, or the portal is briefly down for maintenance.

Fix:

1. Clear browser cache and cookies (Ctrl+Shift+Delete on Windows, Cmd+Shift+Delete on Mac)
2. Try Chrome incognito mode, opens with no cache
3. Check if portal is down for everyone, search "acag.punjab.gov.pk down today" or check the official Punjab Government Twitter/X handle
4. Try again later, government portals sometimes go down for maintenance

Error 8: "CNIC Not Found in System"

Real cause: You probably created an account but didn't complete registration. Many applicants stop after creating credentials without filling and submitting the actual application form.

Fix:

1. Check that you are on the right portal (federal and ACAG accounts are separate)
2. If you can log in and see an incomplete form, complete and submit it
3. If the portal still says your CNIC is not found, call 0800-09100 (ACAG) or 051-111-742-111 (federal) before you register again

How to Reset Your Password, Step-by-Step

If you've forgotten your password, both portals offer a self-service reset. This is the process as shown on each portal on 28 October 2026:

Federal Portal (apnaghar.gov.pk)

1. Visit apnaghar.gov.pk and click Log In
2. Below the password field, click "Forgot password?"
3. Enter your 13-digit CNIC (no dashes)
4. Enter your email address
5. Click Send Reset Link
6. Open the link in your email
7. Set a new password (8 to 20 characters, with at least one uppercase letter and one number)
8. Log in with the new password

Punjab Portal (acag.punjab.gov.pk)

1. Visit acag.punjab.gov.pk and click Login
2. Below the password field, click "Forgot Password?"
3. Enter your CNIC and click Get OTP
4. A one-time PIN (OTP) is sent by SMS and email
5. Enter it within 30 minutes and click Submit
6. Type your new password twice and click Change Password
7. Log in with the new password

Mobile App Login (Where Available)

On 28 October 2026 we could not find an official mobile app for ACAG or AZAG login, and neither portal links to one. Use the websites in your phone's browser:

• ACAG: acag.punjab.gov.pk
• AZAG: azag.punjab.gov.pk
• PM Apna Ghar: apnaghar.gov.pk

If you see an app that claims to be official:

• Check that the developer is the Government of Punjab or PITB before installing
• Never type your password into an app you are not sure about
• Ask the helpline 0800-09100 if you are unsure

The apnaghar.gov.pk site does not link to a PM Apna Ghar app either.

When to Stop Trying Online and Go In Person

If online login keeps failing despite trying the fixes above, escalating offline is faster than continued portal attempts. Here's when to switch to in-person:

For ACAG (Punjab):

• Call 0800-09100 (toll-free helpline) for phone assistance
• Or contact PHATA on 042-99213419 or 042-99213428 (info@phata.punjab.gov.pk)
• Mehfooz Chhat applications are also taken at DC, AC and PHATA offices; for the main ACAG loan, ask the helpline which office to visit

For PM Apna Ghar (Federal):

• Visit any branch of your selected participating bank, Allied Bank, Bank Alfalah, BOP, HBFC, Meezan, Bank AL Habib
• Bring original CNIC and your registered mobile
• Ask bank staff for help with your application, or call UAN 051-111-742-111

What to bring:

• Original CNIC
• Any reference number shown in your account (write it down before going)
• Active mobile phone (for OTP verification)
• The email you registered with (or password reset attempts will fail)

Login Security, Protect Your Account

The Apna Ghar portals contain sensitive financial information. Apply these basic security practices:

Password Strength

• Use minimum 12 characters with mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols
• Don't use your CNIC, date of birth, or family names
• Don't reuse passwords from other accounts

Account Hygiene

• Log out after each session, especially on shared computers (cybercafés, Easypaisa shops)
• Don't save passwords in browsers on shared devices
• Update your registered mobile if you change SIMs, outdated mobile means you can't reset

Phishing Protection

• Never click "Apna Ghar login" links in WhatsApp groups or Facebook posts, type the URL directly
• Real portals end in .gov.pk, anything else is a clone
• Government portals never email asking for your password, that's always phishing

Two-Factor Cautions

• We could not confirm whether either portal asks for an OTP at every login
• ACAG sends reset codes by SMS and email; the federal reset link goes to your email
• Treat your registered SIM and email as your account's "second key", protect them

Beware of Fake Login Pages

Fake "Apna Ghar login" pages have appeared in Google search results, Facebook ads, and WhatsApp messages. Their goal is to steal your CNIC and password. Some fake pages even redirect you to the real portal afterward, so you don't realize your credentials were captured.

How to identify the real login page:

• ✅ URL starts with https:// (with the padlock icon)
• ✅ Domain ends in .gov.pk, exactly apnaghar.gov.pk or acag.punjab.gov.pk
• ✅ Pakistani Government emblem visible
• ❌ Never asks for processing fees or "verification fees"
• ❌ Never has unusual subdomains (e.g., login.apnaghar.com.pk is fake)

If you've already entered credentials on a fake site:

1. Immediately change your password on the real portal
2. Update your registered mobile if you suspect SIM swap
3. Report the fake site to the NCCIA cybercrime helpline 1799
4. File an FIR if any unauthorized changes were made to your application

The Apna Ghar portals will be your main way to track Rs 1.5M to Rs 10M loan applications for the next 6+ months. Losing access mid-process can slow things down. Apply these basic habits:

1. Write down your password in a safe physical place (not as a phone note named "Apna Ghar password")
2. Save your registered mobile and email, losing access to either makes recovery harder
3. Note any reference number your account shows, and keep it with your CNIC
4. Log in weekly to check for status changes
5. If your mobile or email changes, call the helpline to ask how to update it
